WhatsApp Introduces Exciting Chat Customisation Options
WhatsApp, the widely-used messaging app from Meta, is launching a vibrant new feature that allows users to personalise their chat experience with a splash of colour. Moving beyond its signature dark green theme, the app will now offer a range of customisation options, giving users greater control over the look and feel of their chats.
According to WABetaInfo, this update will be part of the iOS 24.20.71 version and includes 22 unique themes and 20 bright colours to choose from, offering a more dynamic and individualised experience.
Customisation at Your Fingertips
Within WhatsApp’s settings, users will have the ability to set a default theme for all chats or personalise specific conversations with different colours. This new feature is perfect for those who want to separate their work, personal, and group chats, as each chat can now have its own distinct look. Additionally, WhatsApp will automatically match the wallpaper with the selected message colour to create a cohesive and visually appealing design.
While users can opt for the default wallpapers, the option to choose customised backgrounds will further enhance the uniqueness of each chat, even if two conversations share the same colour theme.
User Control and Privacy Maintained
The customisations made by a user will not affect how the chat appears on the recipient’s device. This ensures that any changes to theme or wallpaper are only visible on the user’s end, preserving the privacy and preferences of other participants in the conversation.
Gradual Rollout
The feature is currently available to select users participating in WhatsApp’s beta program via the App Store and TestFlight. It will gradually be made available to a wider audience in the coming weeks.
