Saudi Investment Minister to Visit Pakistan This Week
Saudi Arabia’s Investment Minister, Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, will lead a high-level delegation to Pakistan from October 9-11, 2024, aimed at bolstering economic cooperation between the two countries.
High-Level Meetings
The visit, announced by foreign office spokesperson Mumtaz Zehra Baloch, will involve meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari. Representatives from various Saudi government agencies and the private sector are expected to participate in these discussions, underscoring the significance of the visit.
Previous Commitments and Future Investments
Earlier this year, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman committed to accelerating a $5 billion investment package for Pakistan. This visit aligns with Pakistan’s broader expectations of receiving $27 billion in investments from Gulf countries over the next five years.
The federal government has already shared project details with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, anticipating that these investments will be channeled through sovereign wealth funds and private investors.
