Planning Minister Chairs Meeting to Review CPEC Project Progress
Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal chaired a high-level meeting on Thursday to assess the progress of ongoing projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The meeting included Secretary of Planning Awais Manzoor Sumra, Joint Chief Economist Operations Zafar-ul-Hassan, and various senior officials from the Ministry.
Objectives and Directives
During the meeting, the planning minister stressed the importance of ensuring the success of the five-year CPEC development plan by engaging all provinces of Pakistan and promoting equal development opportunities. He directed the interconnection of all five corridors, which include critical components like CPEC Phase I and Phase II, to meet the project’s objectives effectively.
The minister also underscored the urgent need for the timely completion of significant projects, such as the Main Line-1 (ML-1) and the Karakoram Highway (KKH). He instructed regular monitoring of these initiatives to ensure they are completed within the designated timelines.
Highlighting CPEC’s significance, he remarked that these projects are crucial for Pakistan’s economic stability and will play a vital role in the country’s progress and prosperity.
