OnePlus 13 Could See a Price Hike

The upcoming OnePlus 13 is set to launch soon, and leaks indicate that it may debut at a higher price point than its predecessor in the Chinese market. This suggests that international pricing could also be elevated.

The base model, featuring 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, is reportedly expected to start at around $675. In contrast, the high-end variant, equipped with 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, could be priced as high as $885. This represents a $70 increase compared to the OnePlus 12, which launched at $605 last year.

Factors Behind the Price Increase

Several factors contribute to the anticipated price hike for the OnePlus 13, particularly the rising costs of components. The Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which will power the new device, is expected to cost 25-30% more than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 found in earlier models. Additionally, other critical components have also seen price increases, further driving up the overall cost.

Specifications Overview

Recent certification leaks from China reveal that the OnePlus 13 will feature a 6.82-inch display with a 1440p resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. For photography, it promises a robust setup, including a 32MP front-facing camera and three 50MP cameras on the back, offering main, ultrawide, and telephoto capabilities. The device will also come with a substantial 6,000 mAh battery that supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, catering to power users’ needs.

As with previous OnePlus releases, these prices are specific to the Chinese market. When the phone is launched internationally, prices tend to be higher, particularly in the European market due to additional taxes. However, with its upgraded internals and high-performance chipset, the OnePlus 13 may justify the price increase.
