Apple Announces Week of Mac Updates Following iPad Mini Launch
After the recent launch of the refreshed iPad mini, Apple is shifting its focus to its Mac lineup, with multiple announcements planned for the upcoming week.
Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, confirmed the news through a teaser on X. According to his post, the announcements are set to begin on Monday morning, which corresponds to Monday night in Pakistan.
Anticipated Mac Updates
Industry speculation is ramping up, with Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman revealing that Apple is working on a new Mac mini powered by the M4 chip. This new model is expected to feature a more compact design, with dimensions reportedly close to those of the Apple TV 4K.
Additionally, there is anticipation for a broader rollout of Apple’s M4 chip, which currently powers the 2024 iPad Pro lineup. The updates are expected to include refreshed versions of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, along with an updated iMac.
Sources familiar with Apple’s plans suggest that enhanced variants of the M4 chip—specifically the M4 Pro and M4 Max—will also be introduced. The upcoming MacBook Pro refresh and new Mac mini are likely to offer configuration options with both the standard M4 and M4 Pro chips, with the MacBook Pro models expected to feature a premium option that includes the M4 Max processor.
Devices Not Scheduled for Updates
However, several devices are not expected to see updates in this announcement cycle. The MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro will maintain their current configurations until 2025, when their respective refreshes are slated.
