Rupee Ends Week on a High Note with Gains Against US Dollar
The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) ended the week on a strong note, making gains against the US Dollar (USD) after beginning the day at 278 in the interbank market.
The PKR maintained bullish momentum throughout the trading session, closing in green against the dollar and strengthening against most other major currencies. The interbank rate stayed at 278/USD for much of the day, ultimately closing at 277. Open market rates fluctuated between 278 and 281 across various currency counters.
Today, the PKR appreciated by 0.07%, ending at 277.64 after a gain of 20 paisas against the USD. On a fiscal year-to-date basis, this brings the rupee’s appreciation to 0.25%.
The PKR also showed gains against most major currencies in the interbank market today. It strengthened by five paisas against the Saudi Riyal (SAR), six paisas against the UAE Dirham (AED), 20 paisas against the British Pound (GBP), 58 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD), and 96 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD). However, it saw a minor loss of 50 paisas against the Euro (EUR).
