Former Cricketer Slams Mohammad Haris for India Comment

Mohammad Haris’ recent remarks regarding the upcoming match against India in the ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup have drawn sharp criticism from former cricketers, with Basit Ali being the most vocal.

In a now-viral video, Haris, the captain of the Shaheens, mentioned that the dressing room had been instructed not to discuss India before their clash on October 19th to prevent added pressure. He stated, “We don’t have to think only about India. We have to consider other teams too. I’ve been in the [senior] Pakistan team and played in the last World Cup. Thinking about India constantly adds pressure. We have to face other teams as well.”

These comments did not sit well with Basit Ali, who criticized Haris for his lack of awareness about what to say and what not to. “He has no sense of what to say and what not to. If anyone thinks the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) gave such instructions, that’s wrong,” Basit remarked on his social media channel.

Pakistan A and India A are set to clash on Saturday at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman, and the match is highly anticipated among fans and players alike.

Haris is leading a squad that includes Abdul Samad, Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, Haider Ali, Haseebullah, Mehran Mumtaz, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Imran Jnr, Omair Bin Yousuf, Qasim Akram, Shahnawaz Dahani, Sufiyan Moqim, Yasir Khan, and Zaman Khan.
