Banking Mohtasib Provides Relief of Rs. 1 Billion to Banking Customers in 9 Months

In a recent announcement, the Banking Mohtasib revealed that over Rs. 1.06 billion has been disbursed as monetary relief to banking customers during the first nine months of the current calendar year (January to September 2024).

During this period, nearly 18,836 complaints were resolved. From January 1 to September 30, 2024, the Office of Banking Mohtasib received a total of 21,904 new complaints, of which 5,277 originated from the Prime Minister’s Portal.

Significantly, a monetary relief amounting to Rs. 972.33 million was granted through the resolution of 18,431 complaints.

To safeguard the public from the increasing incidents of fraud, Banking Mohtasib Pakistan, Sirajuddin Aziz, has urged banking customers to refrain from sharing their personal and financial information with any unauthorized third parties. He cautioned against clicking on links received via mobile phones unless they are verified as coming from reliable and authentic sources.

In the event of receiving suspicious calls, customers are advised to promptly visit the nearest branch of their bank or contact the bank’s helpline. They should also report any suspicious activity, including phone numbers, to the Cyber Crime Wing of the FIA for further investigation.
