Rupee Ends Today’s Session With More Losses Against US Dollar

The Pakistani rupee (PKR) experienced its second consecutive day of losses against the US Dollar (USD), starting the day at 278 in the interbank market.

While the PKR remained stable throughout most of the trading day, it ultimately closed lower against the USD. The interbank rate stayed at 278/$ for the majority of the day, closing at the same level. Open market rates across various currency counters fluctuated between 278 and 281.

The PKR depreciated by 0.03 percent, closing at 277.74 after losing eight paisas against the USD today.

On a fiscal year-to-date basis, the rupee has appreciated by 0.21 percent. However, today it showed weakness against several major currencies in the interbank market.

The PKR lost two paisas against the UAE Dirham (AED) and three paisas against the Saudi Riyal (SAR). Additionally, it depreciated by 42 paisas against the British Pound (GBP).

Conversely, the PKR gained 31 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD), 42 paisas against the Euro (EUR), and 45 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD) in today’s interbank currency market.
