WhatsApp’s Telegram-Like Chat Color Themes Launch Soon
Telegram has long been recognized for its extensive features, but WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is steadily closing the gap. The popular messaging platform is set to introduce a new feature that allows users to customize chat bubble colors and backgrounds individually for separate conversations, akin to what Telegram offers.
WhatsApp’s chat-specific themes have been in development for several months and are currently available only to users participating in the Android beta version of the app. However, this indicates that the feature should be rolled out to the stable version soon.
Key Features of Chat-Specific Themes
While the majority of users may not have immediate access to this exciting new feature, they can look forward to its anticipated release in the coming months. This update is particularly noteworthy, considering that Facebook Messenger has already provided chat-specific themes for quite some time.
WhatsApp will offer a diverse range of customization options for chat themes, featuring 20 different colors and over 22 textured themes. When users apply a theme, a corresponding message color will be automatically selected. Additionally, users can further personalize each chat with a unique wallpaper while maintaining their chosen message color.
Privacy and Customization
Unlike Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp’s chat themes are private, allowing each participant in a conversation to customize their view of the chat independently. This level of personalization is expected to enhance user experience and engagement within the app.
Currently, there is no official timeline for when the feature will be made available to WhatsApp’s broader audience, but users can stay tuned for updates as the rollout progresses.
