Was Meghan Markle Pushed Out by the Royals and Media?
An ongoing debate surrounds Meghan Markle’s departure from the UK, with many suggesting that both the Royal Family and the British media played a crucial role in her and Prince Harry’s decision to relocate to the US.
During a recent discussion on GB News, broadcaster Nina Myskow claimed that Meghan was “forced” to leave Britain, arguing that she faced pressure from both the Royal Family and the media. Myskow believes this led the Sussexes to move to Montecito, California, seeking a more peaceful life.
However, this viewpoint sparked disagreement on the show, particularly from Neil Wallis, a former editor of News of the World. Wallis rejected the idea that there was an orchestrated campaign against Meghan and Harry, stating, “I’ve never been instructed to follow any specific agenda regarding the Sussexes.” He argued that claims of coordinated efforts by the palace and media were unfounded.
Myskow passionately stated, “Meghan Markle was bullied out of this country by the Royal Family and the British media.” She noted that when Meghan and Harry first appeared as a couple, they were widely admired, with Harry being one of the most popular royals after the Queen. But according to Myskow, their rising popularity presented a problem. “The issue was that their popularity began to surpass that of William and Kate, who are meant to be the future of the monarchy. That couldn’t be allowed to continue.”
In response, host Mark Dolan countered, arguing that William and Kate had maintained their position without creating media spectacles. “They haven’t written books, done podcasts, or produced documentaries that criticize their family,” he said, in a clear jab at the Sussexes’ more public approach.
Wallis also challenged Myskow’s perspective by questioning her journalistic experience. He dismissed her argument, claiming she had never held a senior role in the media, and thus her insights lacked credibility. Myskow, however, defended herself, pointing to her years of experience in Fleet Street, where she witnessed firsthand the harsh treatment Meghan and Harry received.
Dolan stepped in to defend Myskow, insisting that her contribution to journalism was significant. “Nina is one of the most respected journalists in the country. Both of you are established names, but you simply don’t agree on this issue.”
The debate continues, but one thing is clear: the question of whether Meghan Markle was pushed out by the Royal Family and the media remains a polarizing issue.
