Pakistan Army Secures Silver Medal in World’s Toughest Military Competition

A contingent from the Pakistan Army has proudly won the silver medal in an international military competition known as Exercise Cambrian Patrol, held in the United Kingdom. This competition is renowned as one of the toughest and most prestigious military challenges globally.

Colonel Taimur Rahat, the Military and Air Attaché at the Pakistan High Commission in London, provided insights into the competition and the achievements of the Pakistan Army’s contingent.

Toughest NATO Competition

According to Colonel Taimur, Exercise Cambrian Patrol is considered the toughest patrolling competition on the international stage, organized by NATO and held in the UK since 1959. This year, a total of 113 teams participated, including representatives from India.

The success of the Pakistani team was attributed to the effective leadership of Team Manager Major Osama and Observer Major Haseeb.

Challenging 48-Hour Exercises

The competition involved 48-hour-long exercises covering a challenging terrain of 60 kilometers. Participants faced various combat scenarios, including dealing with explosive materials. These rigorous exercises are designed to test soldiers’ physical and mental fortitude, along with their endurance under high-pressure conditions.

The Pakistani contingent, consisting of soldiers from the 67th Punjab Regiment, was led by Lieutenant Owais Usman.

Recent Achievements

This achievement marks the second time in recent months that the Pakistan Army has excelled in an international military competition. Earlier in June, the army secured second place in the ‘Pace Sticking Competition,’ held at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, marking their third consecutive year of strong performance in this event
