Govt to Open PM’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon

The federal government has announced the establishment of the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon to provide maximum humanitarian support to the people in these regions.

The Finance Division issued a notification stating that the decision to create the ‘Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon’ has been implemented with immediate effect. This fund aims to extend substantial humanitarian assistance to the affected populations in Gaza and Lebanon.

All contributions to the ‘Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon’ will be received at the branches of the State Bank of Pakistan, all Treasuries and Branches of the National Bank of Pakistan, as well as all other Scheduled Banks.

The fund is open to donations from both domestic and international donors. Contributions from abroad will be accepted at all branches of the aforementioned banks where such branches are present. In other countries, contributions will be received at Pakistan missions and subsequently remitted to the State Bank of Pakistan, which will prescribe the necessary accounting procedures.

All proceeds received in the name of the Fund will be credited to the public account of the Federal government. The accounts of the Fund will be maintained by the Accountant General of Pakistan Revenues Islamabad, and the Fund will be administered by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in consultation with the Finance Division.
