Sequel to Alien Isolation Announced by Creative Assembly
In exciting news for horror gaming fans, developer Creative Assembly has officially announced that they are working on a sequel to their hit game Alien: Isolation. The announcement was made by the game’s creative director, Al Hope, via a post on X (formerly Twitter) to mark the game’s 10th anniversary, as reported by a popular gaming website.
Al Hope expressed the team’s excitement, stating, “As we celebrate the 10th anniversary, it’s the perfect moment to acknowledge that we’ve heard your requests. Today, I’m thrilled to confirm that a sequel to Alien: Isolation is in the early stages of development. We can’t wait to share more details when the time is right.”
Although Hope didn’t share many specifics about the upcoming sequel, his message was enough to ignite excitement among fans. Further updates will be revealed as development progresses.
Originally released in 2014, Alien: Isolation garnered significant success, selling over one million copies within three months and surpassing 2.11 million after six months. Despite these impressive numbers, Creative Assembly initially hesitated to greenlight a sequel, with Tim Heaton, the developer’s director, mentioning in 2015 that while they were proud of the game, financial concerns prevented them from immediately moving forward with a follow-up.
Heaton’s earlier comments, “Alien: Isolation 2 isn’t off the table, but the commercial realities make us cautious about investing heavily into it,” reflect the balancing act between fan demand and the financial success of other titles in the studio’s portfolio.
Fans of the survival horror classic can now rejoice as Creative Assembly has officially confirmed that a long-awaited sequel is on its way. Stay tuned for more updates as the game takes shape!
