Vin Diesel Set to Face Former Assistant in Court Following Jury Trial Order
Vin Diesel is reportedly preparing to confront his former assistant, Asta Jonasson, in the Los Angeles Superior Court. A jury trial regarding Asta’s sexual battery lawsuit against the actor has been scheduled to begin on August 18, 2025, according to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com.
Asta has filed the lawsuit against Vin and his production company, One Race Films, as well as his sister, Samantha Vincent, who is the President of One Race.
In her lawsuit, Asta claims she was hired by One Race in 2010 to assist Vin during the filming of Fast 5. She alleges that on one occasion, she was tasked with ensuring that Vin was not photographed while leaving a room. However, she asserts that during this time, the Riddick star sexually assaulted her, forcing himself upon her and kissing her without consent.
Following the incident, Asta contends that she was terminated by Vin’s sister. The lawsuit states, “For years, Ms. Jonasson remained silent, fearful of speaking out against one of the world’s highest-grossing actors. She worried about being ostracized from an industry known for protecting powerful men and silencing victims of sexual harassment and assault. As a green card holder, she was also concerned that voicing her experience could jeopardize her chances of obtaining U.S. citizenship.”
Empowered by the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements, Asta is now ready to reclaim her voice and seek justice for the trauma she endured at the hands of Vin Diesel and One Race. The lawsuit further asserts that recent legal protections, such as the Speak Out Act and the revival of her claims through AB2777, have given her the courage to come forward.
In response to these allegations, Vin’s legal team has categorically denied the claims, asserting, “Vin Diesel completely refutes this accusation in its entirety.” They emphasize that this is the first time he has heard of these allegations, which are said to involve a former employee who worked for just nine days. The actor’s attorney also noted that there is substantial evidence that contradicts these “outrageous claims,” adding that Asta’s termination was executed in good faith for legitimate, non-discriminatory reasons.
