BYD Officially Launches in Pakistan, Ushering in a New Era of Sustainable Mobility

Lahore, August 17, 2024 – BYD, the global leader in New Energy Vehicles (NEV), officially launched its operations in Pakistan in collaboration with Mega Motor Co., marking a significant milestone in the country’s automotive industry. The event, held at the Lahore Expo Centre, not only introduced BYD’s cutting-edge NEV technology but also underscored the company’s long-term commitment to revolutionize transportation in Pakistan.

The launch event showcased three eagerly anticipated models—BYD Sealion 6, BYD Seal, and BYD Atto 3—each representing the pinnacle of BYD’s technological innovation and design. This event marks BYD’s official entry into the Pakistani passenger vehicle market, in partnership with Mega Motor Co., solidifying its mission of “Technological Innovations For A Better Life.”

BYD had first announced its intentions to enter the Pakistani market in March 2024. This launch event served as a platform to introduce the brand and the advanced NEV technologies that will soon be available to Pakistani consumers. The three models unveiled at the event are tailored to meet the diverse needs of the local market, offering superior performance, state-of-the-art features, and a commitment to a greener future.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division, expressed his excitement about the company’s expansion into Pakistan. “As the world moves toward a sustainable future, BYD is proud to be at the forefront of this transformation. Additionally, we are making a landmark investment in Pakistan’s first NEV assembly plant—a state-of-the-art CKD facility dedicated to producing BYD’s innovative New Energy Vehicles.”

As part of this green mobility revolution, Kamran Kamal also announced the creation of Hubco Green, an initiative designed to accelerate the adoption of environmentally friendly transportation in Pakistan. “Under the Hubco Green umbrella, we are proud to announce the establishment of fast-charging stations across major cities, motorways, and highways. This network will provide our customers with the comfort and confidence to travel long distances without range anxiety.”

The partnership between BYD and Mega Motor Co. is expected to generate new jobs, stimulate economic growth, and enhance Pakistan’s energy independence.
